Single Tank Design

By creating a pocket of air at the top of the tank, the treatment process takes place in a single tank. This eliminates the need for a separate tank or pump and reduces wear on the system by removing the contaminants immediately after oxidation.

2510SXT Air Injection Control

Automatic backwashing digital SXT controller on the dependable 2510 valve provides ease of use and low maintenance. Specially setup for air injection to add air without a separate pump.

Filter media for trapping the iron and sulfur

The filter media in the tank traps the oxidized iron and sulfur until it is washed down the drain during the backwash cycle. The filter media will last 5 years on average and is easy to change when needed. Other filter media can be used for specific applications if needed in the future.

Complete System:

Complete system includes the tank, media, riser with distributor, 2510SXT Air Injection head, and bypass valve.

Note: Tank color may vary.

A patented oxidizing system to remove highest levels of iron and sulfur. No chemicals, simple to use, rated best iron filter 8 years in a row. Iron is a common problem in homes today. It causes red staining on fixtures. High flow unit for larger homes, higher water use, 12x52 tank Sulfur is easily detected by the presence of a rotten egg odor, and is sometimes associated with yellow staining. Manganese is most often seen as a black slimy substance that builds in standing water, and may impart a metallic taste to the water. All of these problems can be eliminated with our Air Injection System.

Using the principle of oxidation, the system forces the contaminates into contact with oxygen. Most older air injection systems consist of either two separate tanks or by using a Venturi valve to inject air into the water. cleaned and/or replaced. By utilizing a patented piston, our Air Injection system is able to put the whole oxidation process inside one tank, keeping maintenance costs and down time to a minimum. This is done by creating a bubble of pressurized air at the top of the tank (done during the backwash cycle). The air in the tank then oxidized the contaminates, with the high capacity brand media continues to oxidize and trap, then backwashes off to clean and start over.

I researched a number of units before purchasing this one. From a Culligan man analyses of our cabin's well water, we knew the iron content was very high. We were told the sulfur content was very low. You could taste the iron in the water, but we were unsure of where the smell was coming from. I read something about bacteria (or something like that) living in high iron water and when it dies, it decomposes and creates the smell. We weren't sure, but we are do it your selfers and decided to take a chance (vs paying culligan every month). We could not be happier the unit. The smell is completely gone and the taste is all but very faint. You can still identify the well water (vs bottled) despite the filtering (particulate filter, then this iron filter, then softener), but it is significantly better. Highly recommend if you have high iron. One minor issues was a small leak in a fitting where the water enters and exits. There is an injection mold piece that had some minor parting lines (raised plastic where the mold halves come together) that caused a little leak. I had to trim them ever so slightly. Once I did this and add some Vaseline jelly, the leak stopped. One other thing to be mindful of is the unit must regenerate every 3 days to blow down the accumulated iron. You can not change the frequency or time. It defaults to some early hour in the morning. We purposely changed the normal time to force the unit to regen during the day, when we are not sleeping (to avoid the noise from regen). Enjoy.
